About This Memorial

This website is best viewed with your monitor set to True Color (24 bit) format (High Color [16 bit] and 256 color will cause greatly reduced image quality).

This website was designed by familyfolio.com. It contains several images that have been taken from Shirlee's collection of photographs and momentos. The background, buttons, even the bars have been created using various items from Shirlee's life. Following is an explaination of these items and any special significance they may have.

The watch on the home page was given to Shirlee by her Mother when she graduated from Lincoln High school in Orem, Utah. By moving the mouse over the hours of the day you can click to jump to different years in Shirlee's life history.

The background is a collection of items from Shirlee's jewelry box, and other momentos that she saved for many years. All of these items may or may not be visible, depending on the resolution of your computer monitor and the size of your browser window. Included are the following:
a cameo necklace of unknown origin
a ticket stub from the movie "Ben Hur"
two charms from a necklace, (a diary and a lie detector)
  an achievement award from church
an earring with minature keys and locks (she loved keys and locks)
a yell book from Lincoln High School
a necklace from univac, where she worked for years
a small skeleton key with an attached lock of light hair (unknown origin)
a note that she wrote to all of us, asking us to remember her in happier times
a dollar bill torn in half (a close friend was given the other half many years ago)
a watch given to her by her mother when she graduated from high school

The buttons are made from the frame from an old photograph

The bar was made from the frame of an old photograph.

Some of the items you see on the background or elsewhere on the site may have special significance to you, or you may know of their origin, or the story surrounding them. If so, please email me and tell me the story, so I can put it on this site for all to share!

On the page below I have extended the window so you can see the entire background, without any text or images covering it, by scrolling the screen downward (you may also have to scroll right to see the entire background if your monitor is set at less than 1024 by 768 resolution).
